A Day In California

A Day in California from Ryan Killackey on Vimeo.

Just one more time lapse film, I promise.  This one is by Ryan Killackey with music, once again, by Cinematic Orchestra (seems they have the market cornered for time lapse music soundtracks).  Enjoy.

  1. Thanks, Paul. Someday we’ll make our own, of a father and son walking down a vineyard row. And someone watching will say, I was never there and I don’t know why, but I remember.

  2. Encoded in our genes, I guess. The question is not did we live a previous life. We have lived all previous lives, the sum total of the human experience.

  3. There's an amazing technique involved in this work. I just heard about it the other day and the name escapes me, but basically it's embedding video into still images so only part of the picture is animated. Very, very cool.

  4. The objects in the film look like miniatures. Whatever the technique, I like both film clips I posted. Not too often do we see a romanticized L.A. on film, at least not the way Woody Allen romanticizes New York. Thanks for commenting, Vicky, and I will see you next week.
